Terms of use
Last updated
These terms apply to the Life in the UK Prep app and this website. Life in the UK Prep is part of Green Lane Software. By using the app or the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.
An independent study aid
Life in the UK Prep helps you prepare for the Life in the UK test. It is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Home Office, UK Visas and Immigration, GOV.UK or the official test provider. You book and take the real test through the official booking service, not through us.
No guarantee of accuracy or of passing
Our questions, explanations and guides are written against the official handbook, Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents, and we work hard to keep them correct. Even so, we can’t guarantee that everything is accurate, complete or up to date, and the real test may ask about things that aren’t covered here.
Using Life in the UK Prep doesn’t guarantee that you’ll pass the Life in the UK test, or that any visa, settlement or citizenship application will succeed. Always use the official handbook and GOV.UK as your main sources.
Not immigration advice
Everything in the app and on this site is general information, not immigration or legal advice. For advice about your own situation, speak to a regulated immigration adviser. Immigration rules and fees change, so check GOV.UK before you apply or pay for anything.
Using the app and site
The app and this website are for your own personal study. Please don’t copy, resell or republish our questions, explanations or guides, or try to disrupt the app or the site.
If you share a test result, you choose who sees it. Anyone with the link can open it. See the privacy policy for what a shared link contains.
We may change, update or stop offering any part of the app or the site at any time.
Our responsibility to you
As far as the law allows, we’re not responsible for any loss that comes from using the app or the site, or from relying on its content. That includes the cost of retaking the test, application fees, or decisions made by the Home Office. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
Links to other websites, such as GOV.UK or the booking service, are provided for convenience. We’re not responsible for those sites or their content.
App store terms
If you downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Play, that store’s own terms also apply, including Apple’s standard licence agreement for apps.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date above. Questions about these terms? Contact support.
